Akvaterm hot water accumulator
tanks are produced in a standard range of sizes for houses and buildings.
These highly insulated 'Akva EK' accumulator tanks range in capacities
from 300 litres to 5000 litres. For situations where access is restricted,
Standard Akva EK tanks can be made with removable sides temporarily
reducing the diameters by 200 mm. Oval models called the Akvantti
range are also produced in 1400, 2000 litre and 2400 litre capacities,
these all being able to pass through gaps of 810mm.
The Akvaterm accumulator tanks are especially suitable for use with Log
burning boilers such as the Vigas range. They can be used with many
other renewable heating sources. For example Solar, Heat Pumps or Wind and in addition traditional heating sources such as Electricity, Oil
or Gas.
Akvaterm accumulator tanks are manufactured in Finland and are usually matched to log boilers to get the maximum benefit from the system. Sizing these at 40-60 times the boiler’s output in litres, e.g. to calculate the accumulator size for a 25kW boiler multiply 25(kW) x 40 = 1000 litre tank, or 25kW x 60 = 1500 litre tank). The larger the tank the more heat it is able to store. 59 kW/hrs of usable heat are available with every 1000 litres, therefore a 2000 litre tank would be able to store 118kW/hrs.
Akvaterm accumulators are capable of storing heat for over a week and usually will not lose more than half a degree per day. |
